Since getting home from France I’ve had several short trips within the Province and it’s turned out to be a great summer. Of course when you start summer weather in France in February, that’s a good start!
Here are a few memories I’m keeping:
First, here’s Tucker. He was a foster puppy we had for a while. He was either running around like a little whirlwind or was all tuckered out. Had to return him before we went to Haida Gwaii. A real sweety. I hope he found a good home. He’ll be a very loyal dog to someone.

On our anniversary we had dinner outside on the deck and watched a cruise ship leave. There were fewer ships this year.

There have been many yachts here this year. We google them and find there’s a lot of information about them online.

We enjoy living by the sea in the summer. In the winter it’s just pretty wet.
My little girl turned 40 this year. I met her in Victoria for tea at the Empress. I don’t like to post pictures of people without their permission so here’s a memory photo with no one I know in it.

I stayed in Sidney with my best girlfriend. We went to the night market, we had Empress gin, and we had a ton of fun. I met some of her many friends and I must say, I approve. They’re lovely.

Ma sœur and my favourite brother-in-law drove down from Nanaimo and met us at Pagliacci’s for lunch, where ma Sœur took this amazing photo. What a great family I have!

Other memorable experiences… During the conference in May went to the roof of the Vancouver Public Library!

There’s a great view from there.

We found a giant marshmallow farm where they grow green and pink marshmallows.

We grew this amazing fungus in the back yard…

We spent a week on Haida Gwaii, but that’s for the next post.
And we are soon leaving for a few weeks vacation. One week in Edinburgh, one week walking most of the length of Hadrian’s Wall, and a few days in Southport. We have discussed doing a joint blog, DH and I. We’ll see how it goes.
